Nathan Hendren named a 2016 Sloan Research Fellow

Awardee | Nathaniel Hendren, Assistant Professor of Economics, is one of 126 early-career scientists and scholars selected for the prestigious Sloan Research Fellowship, which recognizes the next generation of leaders in eight scientific fields. Harvard colleague Melissa Dell, also an Assistant Professor of Economics, was likewise named a 2016 Sloan Research Fellow. Read the press release.

Katie A. McLaughlin, Lab Director, wins the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology from the American Psychological Association (APA). The APA Distinguished Scientific Awards for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology honor early career scientists for contributions in the first nine years post-PhD. These awards are given across 10 areas of psychology. Dr. McLaughlin won the award in the area of Psychopathology. Thank you to the APA for this incredible honor!

Council of Economic Advisers | Inequality (chapter 1) and early childhood disparities (chapter 4) were a central focus of this year's annual report, drawing extensively on research by many Inequality & Social Policy faculty and alumni. We are particularly partial to p. 182, which cites work by (then) doctoral fellow Sarah Cohodes et. al., "The Effect of Child Health Insurance Access on Schooling." Cohodes (Ph.D. '15) is now an Assistant Professor of Education and Public Policy at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Phillip Hopkins 2008 Wins Warner Prize

Phillip Hopkins 2008, won this year's Warner Prize from the American Astronomical Society for his research on galaxy formation and evolution and the growth of supermassive black holes. This prize is given to recognize an early-career astronomer, who in the past five years has made significant contributions to the field of Astronomy.

2015 OIE International Photo Contest-Two Korea Photo Prizes!
